Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an Air Purifier, and what does it do?
A high-grade fan system sucks in the air around the room and filters the air through filtration stages that in turn release clean and sanitized air back into the atmosphere.
Allergens like smoke, mold spores, pollen, bacteria, viruses, pet dander, and other pollutants damage your lungs and immune system. Unfortunately, most of these irritants cannot be seen by the naked eye. Air purifiers filter out allergens and pollutants from the air that can and cannot be seen by the human eye. To remove these objects, air purifiers typically use filters, electrical attraction, or ozone.

Q: Do all Air Purifier systems work?
Unfortunately, no. Many unreliable companies just ride these trends, manufacturing inferior products with the wrong technology and proportions. They often use cheap filters and binders that can block the desired effects of Air Purifiers.

Q: What should I look for?
Make sure the air purifier you choose has the active technology, HEPA, in at least a 95% cleaning capacity. In the manuals, you’ll also see CADR ratings, which help with security and credibility.

Q: What about safety? Are there side effects to watch out for?
From our research, we did not find any interference between Air Purifiers and other medications or conditions. However, we still recommend consulting with a physician if you have a medical condition.

Q: How do I use an air purifier?
Like air conditioners, air purifiers can’t function well with the doors and windows open. When using the air purifier at home, make sure that you close all the doors and windows. Air purifiers work at the most efficiency in confined spaces such as a closed room or centers with closed windows. Ideally, you can open the doors and windows for ventilation when your air purifier is not working.

Q: How long will it take to see the effects?
Some customers we spoke to reported seeing results in as little as a day. For others, it took about a week. Results also seem to be a bit different for each household. Some show unbelievable change right away because of how contaminated the air in the space is, while others don’t clean the air right away. Many of the reputable brands we reviewed offer refunds to customers who don’t see the results they want in any period.

Q: How much do Air Purifier products cost?
The cost of an Air Purifier varies based on the manufacturer. Many of them are worthless, random companies with cheap quality products trying to cash in on the trend. Some of these companies sell their systems for as much as $200 per unit, which we think is a bit low for a quality air purifier. Most of the good air purifiers we tested fell in the $399 - $2000 range. Others may appear cheaper, but they often boast a one-year replacement when they’re giving you half the recommended filters.
